Tomorrow, members of Imagine!’s SmartHomes team will be hosting a Technology Best Practices Provider meeting. The meeting will be held in advance of the Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disability’s 13th Annual National Conference scheduled for and the 2013 ANCOR Technology Summit & Showcase scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 3.
The goals of this meeting are to: identify and share technology best practices in the field of IDD; identify areas of collaboration in support of our individual business practices; and identify areas of collaboration in consumers/client technology.
The hope is the meeting will help all participant organizations to: improve our current services; discover common interests to influence the development of technology; share research; discover opportunities to partner on grants; develop and advocate for a technology agenda; and potentially share training.
In addition to Imagine!, provider organizations from around the country are scheduled to participate, including representatives from Ohio-based Wynn-Reeth, Inc., New York-based Living Resources, Connecticut-based Ability Beyond Disability, Minnesota-based Hammer, and ANCOR.
We’re looking forward to the gathering, and have high hopes for a productive and mutually beneficial experience!
